Restorative Dental Care

Restorative dentistry is a specialized practice focusing on repairing and restoring damaged or missing teeth to improve oral health and aesthetics. This field of dentistry offers various treatments tailored to address individual needs, ensuring that each patient can achieve a functional, healthy, and visually appealing smile.

  • Dental implants function as replacement tooth roots to support artificial teeth or dental appliances and hold them in place. They are most commonly screw-like posts that are surgically placed in the upper or lower jaw. After healing a crown is placed on the implant and functions much like a natural tooth.

  • A tooth extraction (sometimes called “pulling a tooth”) is a dental surgical procedure where a tooth is removed from its socket. Dental extractions that can be done without making any incisions in the gums and without using any special techniques are often called “simple extractions.” Those that require more complex procedures are often referred to as “surgical extractions.”

  • A root canal is a dental procedure used to save a tooth that has become deeply decayed or infected. During root canal treatment, your dentist or endodontist will remove the damaged pulp from inside of the decaying tooth and follow by cleaning and sealing the canal(s) to protect against future infection.

  • Simply put, a veneer is a covering, something like the thin layer on a piece of furniture that gives it the look of natural wood. When it comes to your teeth, a veneer refers to a thin covering made of porcelain or composite resin material. It can mask discolorations, brighten teeth, and generally improve your smile.

  • Bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth by anchoring artificial teeth between two natural teeth using crowns as supports on either side — effectively “bridging” the gap where one’s natural teeth once were.

  • A crown is a custom-fitted covering that encases the entire surface of a tooth above the gum line. Crowns are recommended when a substantial amount of tooth structure has been lost due to decay or damage but are still viable enough not to require extraction. They can be made from various materials including porcelain fused to metal (PFM), all-ceramic (all-porcelain), or all-metal alloys.

  • Mouth guards and night guards are used to help protect your teeth whether it be from teeth clenching and grinding or teeth injury.

  • Dental fillings are one of the most common restorative treatments used to repair cavities and decayed teeth. The procedure involves removing the decayed portion of the tooth and filling it with a material such as composite resin, amalgam, or porcelain. This not only restores the tooth’s structure but also prevents further decay.

  • Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. They come in two types: complete and partial. Complete dentures are used when all teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Everyone deserves a smile that they can feel confident about. That’s where cosmetic dentistry comes in. It’s not just about aesthetics, but also about boosting self-esteem and improving overall oral health. With so many options available, cosmetic dentistry can help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted.

  • Professional teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure that lightens the color of your teeth. It can effectively remove stains and discoloration, giving you a brighter, more radiant smile.

  • Bridges are dental restorations used to replace one or more missing teeth. They consist of an artificial tooth (or teeth) anchored to the neighboring teeth, filling in the gap and restoring your smile.

  • Veneers are thin shells made of porcelain or composite material that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth. They can improve the appearance of teeth with issues like staining, chips, or gaps.

  • Bonding is a cosmetic dentistry technique that uses tooth-colored composite resin to repair minor dental imperfections. It can be used to fix issues such as chipped, cracked, or discolored teeth.

Preventive dentistry is the modern way of helping you keep a healthy mouth. It helps you to keep your teeth, and means you need to have less dental treatment. The two main causes of tooth loss are decay and gum disease. The better you prevent or deal with these two problems, the more chance you will have of keeping your teeth for life.

Preventive Hygiene Care

  • A dental exam is part of a checkup of your teeth and gums. When you see your dentist for a checkup, the visit usually includes three parts. A dental cleaning, x-rays on certain visits and an exam of your teeth and mouth by a dentist.

  • Some patients may need a deep cleaning also called, scaling & root planing, a non-surgical dental procedure to clear tooth roots of plaque below the gum line.

  • A dental sealant is a thin, protective coating (made from resin or other dental materials) that fills and adheres to the chewing surface of your back teeth or molar. By properly sealing the pits and fissures of the teeth, you can prevent cavities. When compared to the use of fluoride alone, sealants are highly effective in preventing cavities on the chewing surfaces of molars.

  • Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that strengthens the hard outer surface of your teeth known as tooth enamel. It can even help reverse early signs of tooth decay.
